My Brit. Lit. teacher pointed me to Stanford's "Discovering Sherlock Holmes" website. Stanford is reprinting facsimiles of the original Sherlock Holmes, exactly as they first appeared in Strand Magazine. You can get them mailed to you on a weekly bases for free:

I'm hoping that there are some other english geeks out there that find this as cool as I do.

Ooooh...very cool. I've not read any Holmes in a good while, but I used to devour the books...

/me thinks he'll download some of those PDFs and run them through a certain high speed printer. ;P (I don't think they'll send out back issues. :-/)

Sure they will. From the subscription page: "We will send you the issues that have already been mailed."

Sorry, in true /. fashion, I didn't RTFA (in full, anyway) - I was planning to give it a serious looking-at tomorrow. Now, I'm going to sleep.

Thanks for the info!

Is that cool or what? I almost wish that I didn't already have the entire collection in books. Wow. That rocks.

Too cool. There was a great Sherlock Holmes page at Carnegie Mellon years ago, which disappeared when the student graduated. I will have to share this with patrons at the library.
