FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – As if this hurricane season wasn’t tumultuous enough, South Florida is about to get hit by a sandstorm.
By Monday or Tuesday, a Sahara dust outbreak – a cloud of what originally was African sand carried across the Atlantic on the back of a tropical wave – is expected to settle over the region for about 12 hours, forecasters said.

I noticed that the moon was very reddish last night. I wonder if that had any thing to do with it.

Oh, that's just friggin' fantastic. The one time I leave Montana for any long period of time, I end up in the middle of a sandstorm.

GMx, yeah, I saw that too - thought it was quite eerie.

No no no! It's the sign of a Vega attack! [Big Grin]

(Yes, I'm in a retro-anime mood. My recent buying of Gatchaman probably have someting to do with it. As soon as UFO Robo Grendizer AKA Goldorak is available around here in DVD, I'll buy it!)

I didn't see the moon. It was cloudy. [Frown]

The good news is, the clouds are cooling things off.

It's funny, while I was in Newfoundland, enjoying absolutely beautiful weather, every day I saw on the TV about the sweltering heat in Ottawa.. some days, when you factored in the humidity approached 110F!

Since I've returned, it's been mostly nice and beautiful.. with the temperature hovering around low-mid 80s F.

I'm liking it. [Big Grin]

I was going to post a link to The Onion's "Killer Africanized Fleas" article, but old articles are no longer free.

Last night's reddish moon wasn't related to the sandstorm. D'Man, you and I are too far north to see it.
