I am having a difficult time with excel copying info and not leaving cells blank. I have set up a spread sheet that I have written a Macro and use an advance filter to filter info. I have set up a sheet that links to another document. In the formula for the link I did not want "0" in the blank cell so I had the formula to leave the cell blank. I have copied this link and pasted to another page (Paste Special Values) and all appears well, However I have conditionally formated some cells to key on the blank cells and the cells are not blank. I have used trim, and clean but I cannot get the cells blank unless I do a delete. Since all this is in a Macro to update I have no way of knowing which cells are suppoeted to be blank.

Is there a way to have the link copied and pasted as value to another sheet and have the blank cells actually be blank?

I want to read a master file and then filter based on whether there is a completion date for the case or not. Since my filter depends on a blank cell for those cases not completed the cell needs to be blank. Or can you suggest another way to filter the data. again the filter depends on no completion date.

Thanks

Larry

Larry,

Sorry to blast you on your first flight at the GC forums, but this surely seems like a clearcut RTFM case to me. I doubt if anyone else here will even respond, as we all kind of expect that posters will make the effort to find answers themselves before asking us to help. If you don't own an Excel manual, use Google to find the info you seek. 'kay?

I don't know what I was thinking... it seemed like a good idea at the time.
