I'd bet trashcat is real. Look at the way both the white and the orange fur are perfectly masked (if it were fake). To do that, you'd either have to spend *ages* making it match, or you'd have to have a very co-operative cat who would hold still while you position coloured paper underneath him and take a photo. That, combined with the perfect colour match, makes me think it's real. I think the perspective issue comes from the fact that it's a very hairy cat in an unusual pose.

There's software designed specifically to remove backgrounds, Corel KnockOut is one, came out years ago. I am sure anyone with the right app or ability could do it with no that much trouble. It's quite surprising what people can pull off with Photoshop and other apps now.

As far as I know, trashcat is real. What's more important, though, is that he's a hilarious 4chan meme. [Razz]

Wow...so he had to taste that last pleasure in life before going to the Great Scratching Post in the Sky? :-/ [Smile]

It is better to have rested in the bucket and gone, then never to have properly rested at all.

(And now I can't help but think both of Gaim and The Bucket, as well as an old quote with a knowing grin shot at fs.)

Well, uilleann, that is sad indeed. We love our cats around here.

So, I hate to say it, but he was looking a bit pail in those recent pictures.

GG, puns at such a solemn occasion?
That's really scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Solemn? Who the hell's solemn? :P

And no, judging by our furniture and carpet he's gone to the Great Furnishing Store in the sky with a delicious vengeance :D Endless sofas to disintegrate, carpets to shred ... ah, bliss.

True, admittedly very true. And of course that entails no need for special rituals or ceremonies or the like.
