[Razz]

Edit: Totally random...but I'm bored and waiting for a possible callback from Dell. (I'll hold out until 1800 - they said either this afternoon or first thing Monday morning.) Hence, the shred of relevance to this thread. Also, I don't feel like starting a new thread.

NOTICE TO PASSENGERS
Traveling from the United States

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration made some changes to its prohibited items list late last year. Beginning December 22, 2005, scissors with a cutting edge of four inches or less and tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers smaller than seven inches were permitted on board aircraft departing American airports.

(Mind you, I discovered this while reading an article about how poor TSA security is otherwise. ;P)

First I wonder how the hell that happened.

Then I go waste time on the internet. And play with my guinea pig.

If you want, you could come out here and run experiments for me. [Razz]

Run experiments for you or have you run experiments on me?

The first I can do. The later I already promised to the Government... [Roll Eyes]

Holy Crob Stopers, DMan! Thats awesome. I strongly believe that is how buisness should be handled. If you have a problem with someone for some reason, fsck court. Step outside and beat the living hell out of each other till you're friends.

When everything is said and done for, that is the end of it. That's the way we handle things in my unit.

And yet my little tiny Swiss Army knife is still verboten. Remind me again how scissors are substantially different from knives?

The former. I don't do experiments on humans. Great big hairy complicated things. And they talk back, which is really annoying. [Razz]

Maybe, but I'm a vegetarian.

I actually hate all in vivo work, and have so far managed to keep my interactions with cells limited to purifying plasmids, and, on rare occasions, protein from E. coli. However, working with cells is absolutely necessary at times because, at a certain point in all biochemistry, results are only as meaningful as they are applicable to a living system.

Yea, all of this stuff is forbidden but I still was able to fly with my knitting needles. I didn't actuallyt ask if I was allowed to take them on the plane but they didn't find them or take them away froim me. I have a feeling that a six inch long steel needle could really do more than blind someone if you stick them in the eye.
