This is another animated short I discovered on hydrocephalicbunny. I believe it got an Oscar a few years back. In any event it is just stunningly beautiful, even at the terrible blocky YouTube resolution. The first time I watched it, I did not follow the story at all because almost every frame is just so ravishing, but it tells a simple story that works as an efficient tear jerker for anyone who misses their Dad or has a daughter, and I fall into both camps. Every time I watch this, it seduces me again. A lovely piece.
The animator Michael Dudok de Wit has created other lovely shorts that can be found on YouTube. Even his commercial work is pretty damn fantastic.
