A bit of advice, you know the classic joke involving microsoft and cars, bad news they have been hired by vauxhall to write the code for the onboard computers, so I wouldn't buy a car from vauxhall unless you wnat to be crashing an awful lot.

Uh, the DirectX (re: DirectSound) fix? I was pretty leary about that one, though I plan on deploying it, shortly after I learn more about it (tomorrow). What happened? The thing that bothers me is, I don't think I really have DirectX installed on most of my end user's computers, and am quite afraid that a DirectX patch will do unpleasant things to them :-/.

Those Vauxhall VX200s look pretty nice, wish we had them in the states. I'm sure I wouldn't crash if the traction control suddenly needed to reboot. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
Although, after seeing the first episode of Top Gear this season, the Lotus Exige is my favorite roadster.

Don't think this is an issue is it? Being built and partly designed by Lotus the VX220 dismisses such trivialities as Traction Control. Same goes for AirCon. IIRC, the original Lotus Elise also missed Power Assisted Steering, Anti-Lock brakes and an AirBag... it's all about saving weight, less weight equals more BHP per tonne and better handling, that's why the Turbo promises to be a scream at 200bhp but weighing less than an anorexic cheerleader! ![[blush]](graemlins/blush.gif)
Courtesy of a friend who works at Vauxhall I drove a VX220 a couple of years ago... I couldn't get used to two things... first was the noise, I think it's the front wings ... not sure if it's the fact they need to generate a lot of downforce to get the rediculously good road-holding but there's a lot of wind noise generated.
The second thing was the fact that EVERYONE was staring at me, the guy in front nearly shunted the bloke in front of him as he was too busy looking in his rear-view mirror... guess he was trying to work out what the hell I was driving... they're a little more common now.
All in all, fabulous car, acceleration was amazing and cornering was fantastic... easily as good as the first generation Elise I've driven anyways... but, if you truly want mad motoring, there's only one choice.

Yup, that's the bunny. Only happened on one of the PCs, all the others were fine, but it seems to have *ahem* core-dumped all over the system profile so the poor thing was just stuck in an infinte loop at startup - got as far as the Windoze splash screen and hey presto, restart, repeat until dizzy...
;-(
Last Known Good wouldn't work and I didn't have an ERD... time to dig out the Win2K CD...
