i've liked this girl for 4 years and well. tonight -- last night she was acting really strange. if i am upset she is upset, so i tried to comfort her and she just started snuggling with me all of a sudden. then after a while she started to get worried about her dad worrying about her because it was late. when i took her home she still seemed really worried and held my hand the whole ride. ummm... i'm confused. i mean she did say that she just wanted to be friends, and she's never acted this way around me before. furthermore, i'm worried because she looked really upset last i saw her and i really don't know why. Maybe, she has liked you for ages but hasn't been able to tell you. I mean, it was valentines day... She was probably just sending you "signals".

why don't you do nothing about it, and then kill yourself at the age of 45 because you finally realise she was the one and your whole life is pointless without her?

ok, what i'm trying to say in my rather unpleasant way is ask her out! play a bit cool, cos she might still just want to be friends, but nothing ventured nothing lost etc blah ect.

i you fancy her then tell her so. the worst that can happen is that she says no and your ego is bruised.

I think C.G. is on the right track. Sometimes this seems like a really hard thing to do, but be straight with her and ask her to be straight with you. Let her know you are confused and hopefully she will confess her overwhelming adoration for you. And there is the chance it could turn out differently, but either way, you will know the truth, and you won't be putting yourself through the anguish of trying to second guess the whole situation.

Giving this advice is easy, following it can be hard, but the one thing that gives me the courage to go for it every time is knowing how good it feels after the fact.

Good luck! [Wink]

I recently took the "Just tell him/her you like them!" advice. Told the guy I've liked for 2 years how I felt. He didn't feel the same way, but he was decent enough to be nice about it, and didn't let me feel embarassed or awkward.

It still bites, but it's not as heartwrenching as I anticipated. I still have my good friend, and I have none of those "what if's" which are worse than any rejection. [Confused] [ohwell]

However! I suggest you take into consideration the possibility that something else is going on here. If she was acting upset and then worried, maybe she's got some sort of problem or stress that she hasn't told you about, and she was looking for comfort from a friend.

Either way, a good honest talk between the two of you should be on the agenda. Let her know that she can tell you if she has a problem, and if she looks at you sideways, furrows her brow, and says "Thanks... um... I'm fiiiine..." then shrug it off and go for it! Tell her how you feel! [thumbsup]

Our point exactly! Who the heck knows? We are all speculating here, but the bottom line is...Talk to her.

Yes. Talk to her. It's the only way you will ever really find out. I've found that the majority of times the simplest solution is the best. Talk to her. No matter what happens you will be gald that you did.

Well as a follow up. I ended up asking her out for dinner a while back and now we are "going out" or whatever the hell it is called. Anyway... I am still kinda worried about the whole roomate deal and crap but I guess things turned out in my favor.
