So do any of you have cats, or other pets? Post some pictures. I'll start off:

 -
That's Zeus, a stray we rescued a few years ago. In the summer it's not uncommon for him to go out and catch shrews... Sometimes several a day. But he's a nice cat, though sometimes he gets into fights with the other two. He enjoys jumping up on my keyboard while I'm trying to type. I worry that some day I'll get a call from my ISP saying that someone has hacked into eBay or something, and that they've traced it to my Internet connection.

 -
This is Claude, one of our two Siamese cats we've had for about 8 or 9 years now. Before you accuse me of animal cruelty, let me just say that those bows are hardly sticking at all, and that we only put them on for the photo. Claude likes to be read to, and often meows constantly just for the sake of talking. He is very easy going and gets along with my other two OK. Sometimes he fights, but not very often.

 -
Lilly is the other one of our Siamese; she is Claude's sister, and is about 3 weeks older than him. She doesn't always get along with Zeus, but most of the time they're fine together.

My rabbit called Captin Bob (named by my Dad) died a few days ago [Frown] . Personally I'm a cat person more than dog person. Cats rule!!

I'm a furry animal type of person. Yep, if it's soft and fuzzy I'm all over it. I have a slight preference for large dogs, though I confess that cats and I have a strange affinity for each other.

I currently keep a guinea pig named Talkeetna. She's black and brown, with a white paw, white chin, and white rosette on her head and a very classic, blunt-nosed guinea pig type of face. Her paws, even after her recent growth spurt, are still way too big for the rest of her, and she's got a black and brown checkerboard sort of pattern on her back. Sorry, no pics. I'm surprised dman didn't snap one when he was here - maybe he was too interested in holding her. She's about 5 months old now, and she likes to cuddle. She also likes to just have people in the room, so when I try to leave in the morning she sometimes creates a ruckus.

My last pig was Puck. He was calico colored, and his hair went every which way. He also had a breeder tag in one of his ear, giving him a sort of punkish look.

If the cat likes me, I'll like the cat.

But really I prefer dogs. And I feel that they like me more too.

Here's our kitty "Affe Zehen"

Baby photos here .

I've had dogs and cats, like both but I think I prefer cats slightly more. She even has her own email address but usually just gets porn, but sometimes it's animal porn [Eek!]

This is a Mac-centric, cat friendly forum! You dare not speak ill of either here!

I actually really love dogs, in particular dogs with a bit character - raucous, stupid, clownish, slightly uncontrollable Bull Terriers and Staffies, or plain mad Patterdales. Sadly in real life I don't have the house (or more particularly a large garden) for them, and my wife doesn't like them, so that is that.

But last year, almost by accident we acquired 4 cats! And even though deep down I prefer foolish loyal idiot dogs, I do love my cats.

I actually used to have a German Shepherd. Sadly, she passed away a few years ago. I don't really have a preference between cats and dogs, and in fact I'm hoping to get another dog soon. But not a small one. They annoy me. If I get a dog, I'd rather have one of a decent size.

I just love animals in general, my favorites are snakes but my mother put an end to the 'owning a snake' idea. When I'm older I want a small house with a little bit of land so that I can have and Irish Wolfhound and all the cats and snakes that my salary will allow me to feed (and probably a few more that I will support by selling my shoelaces.)

Zim'et, I dated a girl like that once, she had ferrets, cats, dogs, fish (salt and freshwater), snakes, bearded dragons, geckos, a guinea pig, and mice(snake food). [Smile] I hope to get a few more critters whenever I get a house. Especially looking forward to a saltwater aquarium.

For now though I've got fish and my big kitten, Cole. He's about 9 months old now if you can believe that. He was rescued by a friend that worked at a vet clinic. He was dropped off at the vet's as a kitten with a bad ear mite problem and the poor guy's wiskers had been burnt off [Mad] The vet was just going to put him down because of all the care he would need and no one to pay for it all. Luckily for Cole and I, my friend payed for his care and I adopted the little guy. [Smile]

I turn my back for a few minutes and he's already downloading kitty pr0n and learning kitty l33t. [Razz]

Are you kidding I've seen at least 3 cats that drooled like crazy when you would pet them, they could have filled up a shot glass with drool. Stay clear if they shake their heads!

Mine don't and I haven't seen one that does... I guess I'm just lucky. Most of the dogs that've I've known all drooled like a faucet, perhaps in that respect I am equally unlucky.

Drooling is usually a sign of gum or tooth problems in cats. i.e.: cavities, gum disease, even something stuck in their teeth. Take the poor kitties to a vet.

Drooling in dogs is usually a sign of being alive. Get a raincoat.

I love all kinds of animals, although I've never tried cat or dog. I'm actually just going out to buy a chicken for my dinner.

Very funny. Make sure it's not a Thai chicken.

theres the old joke: "In Taiwan, a dog isn't just for christmas. If you eat carefully, there's some left over for Boxing day".

cats are far hoopier than dogs for the simple reason that I'm not allergic to them (one of a very limited range of things [Frown] ). oh yeah, and they're far more intelligent and have the whole "I'm going to do what I want, so poo to you with knobs on" independent attitude which dogs don't. I don't have one myself, but my uncle's is amazing. it likes sleeping on his monitor as its warm (but then falls off), and for some reason it likes water, which most cats don't. cats rock

Cats! I adore cats. I have two, Cedric and PC, although unfortunately due to my current situation, they are living with my mum. I miss my babies terribly!

 -
This is PC, my sweet girl - also my eldest. [Smile]

 -
And this is Cedric, who is the baby. He acts more like a dog than a cat, but I love him regardless! [Big Grin]

This is Mr. Meowgi, our carpet-holder. This is his usual position, and incidentally the height of his activity level in an average day. He's been on light food for 2 years, and still weighs 27 pounds.

I'd probably do something similar; I hope to get a job in which I can have some flexibility and be able to spend a lot of time with some animals. Just cats and dogs though; though I don't hate snakes, they just don't strike me as the ideal pet.

A friend of mine used to have an Irish Wolfhound. It weighed around 200 pounds, but sadly died at age 4. That's the problem with the bigger dogs; a lot of health problems. But this may change as they learn more about them.

Hm. The Cheez has two lovely cats... one of which has yet to find itself alone in a dark room with me - where I will avenge it's scratching the living shit out of an expensive leather jacket of mine years ago when it was a fluffy, evil kitten.

Sorry about the grammar in that last sentence... I was distracted by my frothing mouth. [Smile]
