Authoritarian leaders take note, when you call out the military to restore order in your capitol city, and they sit down and drink tea with the protesters, your screwed.

____ Well looking back less than half a century, Poland and E. Germany, then the Balkans. The Soviet block fell apart. Just a short time ago it appeared that Iran was going to have an upheaval.
____ I hope that none of these people die in vain, conditions worse than before.

____ I just have to post on this again, I usually get most of my news feeds from CONUS news sources. However I found out that the local community College Television has a sub-channel of world wide news sources, what a difference in view point from CNN.

____ Snaggy, I have a problem, My TV only has two tuners, I was watching Aljazeera in one part of the screen and CNN in the other, and listening to the third TV. I am elated that a scoundrel has fled. I hope that Egypt does not fall prey to another scoundrel. This did appear to follow Gandi's script, "peaceful." ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

It's always good to see a dictator fall.
And now the hunt begins for his hidden loot.
Rumour has it that most of his ill-gotten gains were made via a pyramid scam.

For the future there are some difficult questions, (and I wonder how many of the world leaders now publicly urging Egypt towards a full civilian run open and democratic government are privately hoping that the army stays in power), but sufficient unto the day etc., so just listen to the pure exultant joy of this woman interviewed by the BBC.

Today the headlines are reading " Gadaffi's son warns of cival war. "
Gadaffi has been there 40 years and is old. If he is overthrown, he has had a good run. HIs son though must see this as the peasents stealing his birthright.
I hope Libya doesn't decend into cival war because of this, when Gadaffi could, as all old warriors do, just fade off into history.

____ Good Call Ash, It appears that the down trodden every where are starting to see their plight. I am afraid that many in this country, the USA may becoming aware that the last election was bought, by business interests. The problems in Wisconsin may become troubling.
____ It seems that I am not the only one to notice.
