This story is doing the rounds at the moment - the NHS in Sheffield has released a pamflet titled "Pleasure" advocating the, well, pleasures, of safe sex. All well and good, until you think that it's aimed at people around and below the age of consent.

Personally, I'm all for it regardless. Teenagers have always had underage sex and will continue to do so, regardless of abstinence messages. They're only human, with raging hormones and desires, and like it or not they're going to do it. This leaflet encourages them to do it in a safe (both physically and mentally) way by talking about how good it is for them (and anything that gets kids exercising in this age of rampant obesity is a good thing). This is a better approach than preaching either no sex at all or "use a condom or else" - both have failed to reduce the rate of spread of STIs and teenage pregnancies, and it's easy to see why. By saying how great it is, especially when safe, the message may have more effect.

However, as you would expect, there's a massive storm being kicked up about what appears to be state-sponsored underage sex. So what's your takes?

Of course Sex is fun, there's no point in denying it to teens just because they're judged underage by some ridiculous magic number the government came up with.

I strongly advocate sex for teens - as long as it is in a safe (condoms!!) way. Telling kids to not have sex obviously is the wrong take at things.
They only have unprotected sex - STIs and teenage-pregnancies are the result.

Better educate the kids to have safe sex - and good sex [Wink]

No one can stop sex. Why do people with funny hats keep trying? Make it safe, be open about it, and preach caution. Humans, for the most part, are not creatures of abstinence.

But I preach to the choir here.

So...

...what if you're married to a doctor?

If you watch 'The History Of NASA' backwards, it's about a space agency that has no manned spaceflight capability, then does low-orbit flights, then lands on the Moon.
