Just dropping a post to say hello to everyone. I have been reading posts for a while, but I thought I would finally break down and make a post to say hello.

Hihi! Thanks for the warm welcome!
Erica or Erica Ann is fine, either one
<grin> I figured it was about time to de-lurk. So many times I thought about posting before, but with life going so fast these days, I have never gotten around to it before. Now, if I could just stay home from work and get a chance to enjoy it lol.

Hiya! Thanks on the website. I am actually trying to move it over now....
It used to have everything technical I use for work and play on it as well as personal stuff.. but I am trying to get all the technical stuff moved over to http://www.girlgeekette.net
I think I got more than I bargined for though.. I had no idea I had collected so much stuff on Aleeya.net over the past few years
(much like I realized my house was when I moved a few months ago! lol)
I definately plan on being around for a while. I think I am going to add a link on my site so I can get back here quicker ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

Oh, wow! What an awesome website!
Has anyone seen a book called Schott's Original Miscellany? It's a collection of snippets of knowledge, that seem to have little connection but still overall make a wonderful little book. It's also one of my favourite books in terms of typography and layout - you can see why your site reminded me of that.
Welcome, Erica Ann.

Jace, you need to drive about two hours inland (up to the Raleigh/Durham area) to get out of the sucky part. Either that, or drive down to Wilmington or see some of the Outer Banks.

<grin> Nice to get back from work and see such great posts and welcomings! <is that a word??>
Thanks for all the kudos on the website I am actually in the Raleigh area as a matter of fact.
as for Schott's Original Miscellany, I will HAVE to check that out. I love those kinds of books! I love things where there are snippits of something.. as much as I love reading, I also have a very short attention span and something like that would fit me perfect.
As for the bad spelling... oh I am SO going to have to watch out for that. I am a major typo queen. It's because I type too fast, and I am always doing multiple things.
I swear my mom was an English teacher, and I do have good grammar and spelling.. it's just a hard habit to break. So is my lack of punctuation, but I will try
I do appreciate all of the warm welcomes. It makes it nice to come back to after a long night of work.
I love what I do for a living.. I LOVE being a tec.. (I mean come on, what woman WOULDN'T love being surrounded by smart geeky men all the time??), and I love working with others to help them with computer and networking problems, but some nights, it just makes me wonder about our human race
Hi to everyone I missed earlier!

Not all of us have grammar hangups. Take me, for instance. Never grammar bothers me don't. After all, if bad grammar works for Yoda, why not people, too?!?!
Nonetheless, it's nice to not see posts such as "rAd Ko00l! Diz b0Ard Rockzzz! wH0 needz wArez!? mY ciTe cross-posts, d0@d!!!" I've seen such posts while peeking my bits into other boards. And it makes my cranium rock and ache so.
So welcome! Enjoy post and be merry!!!!

ewomack - I hear you on the l337 sp33k. I have seen enough of that in the alt.2600 * newsgroups to last me 2 lifetimes! It gives me a headache trying to read it. About the only place it even has a place is on lisence plates in my book.. and I only give it that for creativity
Grummash - Thanks! I am really enjoying it here so far. I have strange hours with work and I have finally found a place I like that I can stop and take a breather when I am at home - seems like when I am home, my relaxation is still usually work LOL

OK, that's it, I want one of those shirts. Not that it would look as good on me as on her.
Edit: Hmm, looks like its a tshirthell product. Which would mean expensive international shipping. Darn. Oh, there are some mighty offensive other shirts on that site, so the easily offended might not want to wander around that site too much.

There's always the 'iron on transfer' solution, they're fairly cheap, and you can print on them with an ordinary inkjet printer.
