Bought it Saturday. Finished it noonish today.

It's... okay. Mostly it was the spoiler hints that got me excited, and like Episode 1, definitely didn't live up to its hype for me.

The character who dies was not a central character, and he had such a Soap Opera death it was, well, lame. I was more touched when Cedric Diggory died in #4.

The book was full-tilt, but fell over dead at the end.

I'm reading it right now so thank you for not telling me anything I don't already know!

(I can't stop myself from reading anything which has Harry Potter as its heading, but at the the same time I'm scared it's going to destroy the plot for me!!).

Anyway, so far I think it's great!!

But maybe it will fall over dead at the end....

Serves you right for selling bootleg copies! You're lucky you didn't get expeled for distrubiting porn! Are you sure there wasn't a virus in that document too? I hope you scanned it well.

Wahaha! 's karma at work. Delicious karma...

Anyway, just started reading it tonight, it's pretty good so far, although I do automatically favor all things Harry Potter. Anyway... must finish!

Thanks to you, I have mental images of hard core sex involving the Harry Potter characters. Luckily I haven't seen the movies, or the images in my minds eye would be even clearer
[Eek!]

Scary to think that somewhere out there right now, someone is probably writing Harry Potter "slash" fiction. [shake head]

Oh, I have a friend who is really into fanfic, and she's told me stories about what's out there. Believe me, you don't want to know.

She also said that someone posted Order of the Pheonix fanfic by Sunday night. Huh? When did they sleep?

I don't know about the rest of you chappies, but I loved it. I was about 1/3 through it, laid down in bed to read it last night (at 12:00A, my usual bedtime) and decided to stay up till 1:00A, 2:00A, and finally gave up and finished it (final time, 3:30A.

I disagree that the character whom dies is not main character. They played an important roll...

Smegedinashed ought to have known when the title was:

Hairy Potter and The Order of the School-Girls from Naughty-Botty Land!!

I suppose anyone could have made that mistake... ;P

Piracy of intellectual property is very illegal, Smeg, and had they been real copies, you could have been quite in a lot of trouble for your confession...

... though it's a funny story nonetheless.

"Piracy" and "intellectual property" are propaganda words; please don't use them. The alleged illegal act in question here is called copyright infringement.

Now, normally I'd say that there's nothing wrong with this, but Smeg did it for profit. That, in my mind, is wrong.

As for Smeg, I only find it moraly wrong if he sold them for money. It's just data, for god's sakes. If that's illegal, than so should reading the book aloud in front of people.

Ahem, I, too, reached that fateful point of no return, and was up till 3:30 finishing the book. I have to agree with Oz on this: While he isn't a 'central charachter' he is still an important charachter. It's similar to one of the teachers dying, methinks.

Overall, I very much enjoyed the book, although it's true that I have a pro-Potter bias.

*yawn*

(may contain small spoilers) It's been bugs me that she skips the School song in every book, but the first. She also dropped a few plot lines that were started in the Goblet of Fire (read: The play between Ron and Hermione – only brought up when Ron got jealous, and wasn't both ways as it was in Goblet of Fire). Why didn't he use the Room of Requirement more (as there were a few places that he could have)...

All this being said... It was a good book, and I really did enjoy it. So, when is the next one coming out? (the damn movies keep delaying the books)

I liked it. It did kind of die at the end, but at least we didn't have to sit through another of Dumbledore's end of year speechs. They don't seem quite so bad until you watch the movies.
