Inspired by GMx's new years resolution I decided that I'd start a thread dedicated to the blasted things...
Mine (so far) are as follows (ooo.. I get to use a list!):
- Lose at least 50 of these 250 lbs.
- Learn to play the guitar
- Go back to school
- Find a new job
I think that does it...I'd like to get started on my volkswagen this year too, but I don't even know if I'll be able to find a decent job yet...

I resolve to trying to let my folks let me have more freedom. I'm tired of them hounding me like a dog. I also resolve to getting an extra-special someone since the last someone I was a girlfriend to turned out to be a really bad person to spend time with... My papa says I'm pretty and there should be boys lined up behind my door. (This is the same man that said that if I ever brought home a boyfriend, he'd grab his and see if he could whistle) I'd look outside to see if anyone is lined up behind my door, but there would be nothing but probably a blade of grass. (Inside joke)

- get something set in stone for my wedding by the end of January
- get a job doing massage therapy so I can quit this state desk job
- only read books I haven't read before
- cut down my sugar intake by half
- exercise regularly
I'm sure there are more things I want to do, but this is a (somewhat) realistic start. I'm not sure how well I'll do at the exercise thing. I'm reading Starship Troopers right now so there is all this kick-ass military stuff about boot camp and fighting the enemy, and it almost makes me want to join the marines. Then I start running and after about 2 minutes I realize why I failed the Army physical Dad made me take in high school.
Oh yeah, one more resolution.
- get accepted to The Boston Conservatory as a Musical Theater major

To stop smoking (I just restarted four weeks ago to have something for a reasonable resolution) To graduate (although I like the Borg University catchphrase: "Graduation is futile!") and, of course: iPod, iBook, iShouldEarnSomeRealMoney

- get more exercise - get my focus back - get into grad school - climb at least as many peaks as I did in 2002 (i.e., >6) - find someone special. The bitterness is poured out and the hard lessons learned. I'm ready to love again. - stop biting my nails - finish my antibiotics - start taking vitamins again
I used to say I wouldn't bring anyone back from th dead and leave it at that, but 23 months ago today that became part of my job description. So I actually had to think about these.

Well Santa delivered in spades
So in honor of this thread , what i am about to do is to make a new years resolution to actually go over Santas list of naughty girls that he delivered that fateful evening.
Have a happy new year folks

- to quit smoking for good (anyone have any advice on this one?)
- to eat better
- to exercise on a regular basis
- to not take everything life throws my way so personally

Smokers have oral fixations, so my advice is red licorice sticks. Not too high in fat, and makes a good substitute. I let mine get stale so they're extra hard to chew-lasts longer that way. Carrots work well, too.
Oops, too much information. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

• to eat healthier (less junkfood, more vegs (tempura?)) • to save money • to find true love • to take driving lessons
Oh well, I already know none of these will stick ![[Razz]](tongue.gif)

Hmmm.. only two this year. Should be fairly do-able. I suppose before I can win, I have to start playing it, which costs money... Hmmmm... alright, let me revise that list:
Much better.

Oops, just remembered another one: to stop believing that most people are fair, and if you treat them well, they will do the same. I guess that's kinda related to the first resolution in that it's the naive little dreamworld I live in.

Hope you didn't think my reply was meant to offend you, I was talking about a different dream world. I meant something like a hopeful world where everything turns out all right. Hmm, maybe you're right. I should stop living in a dream world.
