I'm not used to see such a large strip. I thought I'm in After-Y2K.

It was nice - but who are the characters there? (forgive me for my ignorance)

Hi Beenay,

Yep, we thought we do a giant spectacular JoT for this one.

It's Steve Jobs giving the keynote, and Michael Dell awakening from the nightmare.

Actually I hear Steve's big announcment will be that Apple is switching to AMD processors and dumping OS X for Windows XP. Hurrah! Unfortunately that will put Nitroprozac and Stinky out of business... too bad.

Come on, "WinTel man", (if that IS your real name?). It's one thing to have a flame war in one of Dr. Cyclop's posts. (when he practicly invited with the provaction)(no offence, Dr. C). It's completly anouther to tread out into the middle of anouther's post about a big mystery that will either be really big (aircraft) a big disapointment (Windoze XP) or something in between (Seagway). Don't get me wrong, I enjoy partisipating in a flame war as much as the next person to defend my choice of operating system, the same way one might defend their religon, and as an ex-christian ex-episcapalian ex-athest ex-agnostic current new-age person, Macs are the closest thing I've had to a steady religion. But to start a flame war with the intent of pissing off people excited about some rumor regarding things they are interested in is pure troll-ism.

Go back to your cave, WinTel man. (anger firmly keept in check).

We always get a BIG THRILL when we hear that our work has infiltrated the walls of the Mothership.

Um, you do work for Tim Hortons, right?

Kind regards,
Stinky

I’m going out on a limb and assuming nutty works for Apple. If that’s the case, please assure me that whatever happens at the expo, Jobs won’t jump up and down and chant “Developers, Developers, Developers…Whoooooooo! 4 words….”

Although, maybe he could, in a true John Stewart (The Daily Show on Comedy Central) Deadpan set up, offer the question: “You know what will really put OS X on the map?” (Pregnant pause) Said dryly, “Developers, developers, developers.” Then say something like, “Thanks. Digital droo, you think you can do something to pep that up a tad.”

Hi nutty!

Tim Hortons is a donut chain that is a Canadian institiution. Started by hockey player Tim Horton, Canadians spend much of their time sipping the addictive coffee and debating why there is no "'" in Tim Hortons.

Considering how much money I've spent there... I should own the place.

Oh man, Nutty, you must be a "genius".

Do you need a cartoonist to test drive your mystery product?! (I can keep a secret).

not yet, we'd LOVE to go of course. We did do a fan signing for LinuxWorld Expo in San Jose, that was fun, and we've also taught Woz's class twice. The last time, in August, we were at Woz's for a couple of weeks, and it was amazing great fun!

Lust? The sat. add mentions "lust" This hype thing is a snow ball. I hope it does not roll it's avalanche-like descent into hell. Cause, statistcally the chances are not good of survival under those circumstances. and by that I mean...

I hope they deliver. I thought the iPod was cool, but not ground breaking. You know the thing is I am always whipped into a geeky frenzy como expo-eve. I don't need more hype. Adn god knows the press doesn't need an excuse to rip apple a new one.

But lets get bakc to that lust thing. I guess they said the Ti book was sexy. OK, i'll bite. I think it's a bit of an aberation of the adjective, but ok. But, this time are they being litteral with the lust handle? Is there going to be a hologram sex thing? Hmmmm. I think Dennis Miller said it best: "If an iron worker can come home, pop a beer and Screw Claudia Schiffer it will make crack look like Sanka."

Just musing. I gotta stop loggin in after bar time. lol

Tim Hortons is a donut chain that is a Canadian institiution.

They've also got Tim Hortons here in Ohio. It would appear it's got the same parent-company as Wendy's, as I'm seeing more and more Wendy's/Tim Hortons combined restaurants.

I KNEW that name was familiar, I saw a Tim Horton's once and was confused about what it was. I think it was in Ohio about 2-3 years ago that I saw it, but I travel so much I'm not entirely sure. I have this nagging feeling that it may have been in Maryland or even further south (Krispy Kreme territory).

yep, a few years ago Wendy's swooped in and bought Tims. *gasp*
Since then there has been a lot of expansion here in Canada, and they are moving into the States too. I've heard that the Tim Hortons arm of the company is now pulling in like 40 percent of Wendy's revenue or some incredible high number like that. Investor alert: they are looking for more American franchise owners, last I heard, it was like 25K for a franchise... if I had the dough, I'd get one in Silly Valley.

Tim Horton's is totally delish, it must come to the USA (but Swiss Chalet needs to stay put! >-P ). A couple years ago, I remember seeing a Wendy's/Tim Horton's building with the two inside it, and near it was a big poster with Dave Tomas and the guy who own Tim Horton's (umm... Tim Horton?) looking like pals. I wonder if it was really like that.

Really? where? I've lived in Cleveland and Cincinnati, and never heard of the place. I love a good doughnut though...I'd be interested in checking it out.
