Where do you get your techie news?

My usual haunts include... MacSurfer, Digg, /., Google news, MacMinute, MacObserver, MacMerc, and of course links from here. [Big Grin]

I've moved to RSS these days, and am mostly loving Google Reader:
http://www.google.com/reader/lens/

I subscribe (RSS, not dosh) to /., a variety of Google feeds (i.e. news about their cool toys), the ISC diary, Fergie's Tech Blog, F-Secure Weblog, Kapersky's blog, a M$ security blog, a slew of webcomic feeds, and some other stuff that I forget now. I'll probably export my feed list in OPML tomorrow. I read GC's RSS in Sage (http://sage.mozdev.org). I also use Sage for Macintouch (http://www.macintouch.com) - these two feeds update way too often for me to put them in an aggregator like Google Reader - I'd be buried very quickly.

I mainly go to Mac sites, MacCentral, MacNN, MacMinute, Powerpage.org & I visit Wired's RSS page. I think I've only visited slashdot 2 or 3 times.

I like CNet News and Wired, both of which were conveniently placed in the RSS news feed folder of Safari 2. I just learned about Digg from a recent Wired news story and I like it a lot because POWER TO THE PEOPLE MAN!

To feed my way-too-obsessive mac addiction, I have a bookmark folder that opens MacObserver, Apple Insider, Think Secret, Mac Central, Macfixit, Macupdate, and Spymac. That way I can tab through all of them quickly.

I also get the table of contents from a selection of journals e-mailed to me.

Agreed. It has some incredible stuff, but it's filling up quickly with way too much stuff to digest.

I'd also feel really lame about the Slashdot window cling I have on my car if I didn't favor it. [Wink]

But seriously - I read /. - for the comments. [Big Grin]

First, shameless plug: http://www.wizardsoftechnology.com - I do a daily 10 minute tech news show now, called the Update Wizard. Podcast for your convenience through your podcatching client of choice...

Where do I get the news for the show? Mostly from the sea of RSS feeds I surf... but I usually pull top stories from CNet and Yahoo tech news feeds, MacMerc.com, mobiletracker.org, brighthand.com, treocentral.com, eWeek.com (Ziff-Davis), and fill in with Engadget.com and boingboing.com...

Sometimes SlashDot, but rarely Digg.

I use RSS for almost all my news. The only exception is the ABC News bite on the radio when I've driving to/from work.

For regular news I read BBC (for a hopefully non-US view), The NY Times (for the sometimes ultra-liberal view) and CNN (although it ticks me off they don't bother to put story summaries in most of their feeds). I probably should add Fox or similar for a conservative viewpoint.

For Mac news I skim Mac Central. I have little patience for wild speculation, so I stay away from the rumor sites.

For electronics I read Engadget, mostly because their story style amuses me.

aardvark.co.nz is one of my check every morning sites. Has a (usually) intereresting opinion peice and links to the most interesting stories on the major tech/IT news sites for Aus/NZ and occasionally science stuff if it's something cool.
