*Me*

But I love more than just the World Wide Web, I love the whole entire Internet.

/me hugs the Internet...

In this holiday season, and with the new year coming, I send my thanks out to all NOC folks for keeping this giant mess running - it's a grand thing, the Internet.

8:42 Cathy: i have no freaking internet jon bell!
8:43 Cathy: so it would stand to reason that i couldn't look at that

To use one of the more famous quotes on bash.org:

"I'm going to become rich and famous after I invent a device that allows you to stab people in the face over the Internet."

I'd love it so much more. [Roll Eyes]

Me circa 1997: "The internet is so boring, there's nothing there!"

Random classmate: "There's tons of stuff on the internet, you just have to know what to look for!"

So I went home, got on Yahoo and somehow ended up at hampsterdance.com

I've never quite been the same.

I had a similar experience, only I stumbled across www.hidethehampster.com [Eek!] And, no, it isn't a Richard Gere fan site.

You used to be able to download the internet here: http://www.onzin.nl/internetdownload/, but the big red button seems to be malfunctioning. DANG!

When I worked tech support at least once a day I'd get someone asking "Is the internet down?" I always wanted to reply: "Hmmm... I'll ping the A-root server and let you know" or "The internet never goes down, that's why we have them nasty Russians beat!" or "The internet's down? Wow! World War III must be starting!" But of course I didn't. I was cordial and accomodating. Oh yes. Awwwwwww. *Planet Hug*

It didn't load for me so you'll have to explain. What does Richard Gere have to do with hamsters?

It's a hearsay thing, but you probably don't want to know. Let's just say that the hampster got stuck in a very uncomfortable place (and no, not the back of a Volkswagon).

Tha intarwebs is, like, so good.

The other day, I, like, searched on, like, that gogle thing and OMG i found a pic of me. I am SO hot. Like, totally.

I think that people should require USER IDs to access the internet and in order to get those licenses you have to pass an annoyance levels test.

Trolls and Dimwits (where is the any key?) should be banned from ever accessing other people, before the virus spreads and we all live miserable lives surfing online forums.

No, wait..that's already happened.

Nooooooooooo </Charles Bronson>

In the future we will all be surfing darknets anyway to avoid govt censorship.

I'm not worried about government censorship as much as corporate censorship, or at least things to that effect. What I'm referring to is the broadcast flag, and the new replacement for DVI connectors which does useful things like integrate 8-channel audio onto the same cable (yay!) and bad things like encrypt the digital video signal (boo!).

I would use darknets just on principle. [Wink]

I have always been taught that it is the other way around.

Although, you are probably right, because I always had some suspcion that it was being explained to me wrong.

Microsoft's Trusted Computing.

Ie "Trust us, you will be assimilated".

Apple 1984 ad anyone?

looks like it needs to be brought back as an anti-microsoft ad.

I've been having trouble just getting the Web, let alone the Internet. I think I need a faster computer.

This is the dialog box I get:*
