Hello Family and Friends

Yesterday we had a few lines of storms roll through our fine mitten State.

Shortly after noon was the first line, not much rain but strong winds, did not seem as bad as forecast.

We drive to Standish to get groceries and some salads and see if the tourists have vacated the area, yes they had left. However the winds had taken down many trees, one house will not have to carry in wood for the fireplace it is already inside. Pictures at WNEM TV5 Standish, Mi.

As we leave the salad place and look towards home we both comment that it looks ugly that way. It was, we park where we usually park and waited for the rain to subside. The rain did not subside it got worse much worse. The hail began and we were setting in Jeep that has three glass panes in the roof, then the winds started to rock the Jeep. The wind stared to subside followed by the rain and hail, we made a run for the house.

From inside it did not seem any better the hail came back and the rain returned, then the wind blew that stuff away and we were left with rain lightning and WIND. The wind subsided long enough for me to retrieve the groceries.

I have been through many storms but only one worse, it was named Camille the Hurricane, okay at the time it got to where I was it had been down graded to a tropical storm.

I hope all is well with all of you.

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

It's hot here, and humid at times. Mornings are pretty awful in that regard - and early this evening it wasn't much better. (Fairly decent midday, though.) I was going to go for a walk right after work and took the bus instead as the heat + humidity was really getting to my head. Later on, I was able to take an abbreviated walk, especially once a breeze entered the equation.

It looks like the heat will die down later in the week, and we might get rain on Sat. (We last got rain on ~Thursday? That storm was serious enough that our smartphones at work became a collective klaxon when the emergency alert went out.)

Stay cool and dry if that suits your fancy...or may you get rain, if that's what you so desire. (Tempted to say 'moist,' as I just watched some Dr. Horrible again the other day, but that's probably wrong...)

There are three things you can be sure of in life: Death, taxes, and reading about fake illnesses online...

Just the usual aussie weather here.

And while we're telling "worst storm" stories, ever seen a German Shepherd fly?

If you watch 'The History Of NASA' backwards, it's about a space agency that has no manned spaceflight capability, then does low-orbit flights, then lands on the Moon.
