So we're up to 12 seasons of (U.S.) Dancing With the Stars, and here are the stars!
Chelsea Kane (actress, The Disney Channel - cue self-promotion), paired with Mark Ballas
Chris Jericho (pro wrestler, WWF/WWE/WCW/ECW - hope the dancing won't be fake, too), paired with Cheryl Burke
Hines Ward (wide receiver, Pittsburgh Steelers - guess he's looking for the Cheesy Disco Ball Trophy since the Steelers didn't get the Lombardi Trophy this year), paired with Kym Johnson
Kendra Wilkinson (the second of Hef's "Girls Next Door" to appear on DWTS, after Holly Madison in Season 8), paired with Louis van Amstel
Kirstie Alley (actress on Cheers, in Look Who's Talking, etc., though nothing could match her performance as Lt. Saavik in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - hey, this is GeekCulture after all ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif) ), paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy
Mike Catherwood (dude who replaced Adam Carolla, and before him, Riki Rachtman, as cohost opposite Dr. Drew on the Loveline radio talk show), paired with Lacey Schwimmer
Petra Němcová (supermodel who might just be a superwoman, as she survived injuries in the 2004 tsunami that would have killed lesser mortals), paired with Dmitry Chaplin
Ralph Macchio (actor best known for the Karate Kid movies, so let's just get all the "Wax on, wax off" jokes out of our system right now ), paired with Karina Smirnoff
Romeo (aka "Lil' Romeo," rapper, actor, and hoops player--he was supposed to be on Season 2, but he injured himself and his dad stepped in instead...unfortunately, his dad is Master P, all-time record holder for Worst DWTS Dancer EVAR), paired with Chelsie Hightower
Sugar Ray Leonard (retired pro boxer, the one who isn't Muslim and doesn't have his own grill), paired with Anna Trebunskaya
Wendy Williams (host of a daytime talk show and calls herself the "Queen of All Media"...Howard Stern called, he wants his tagline back), paired with Tony Dovolani
This season doesn't seem to merit extensive coverage on GC, as the only real "geek appeal" in the cast is the aforementioned Kirstie Alley from her Trek gig. Guess they didn't like my idea of getting Linus Torvalds for the show...

I know who Kristie Alley is and that is it. THey are digging deep for "stars" now.

And she wasn't even the 'star' of that TV show from the 1980's she's best known for.
I hadn't even heard of the aussie chick they've got partnering the american footballer - turns out she's "famous" for appearing on the aussie Dancing With The Stars - it seems that fame is defined recursively.
That horrible fingernails-on-blackboard noise you hear is the bottom of the barrel being scraped.

Kym Johnson is, indeed, the first pro to make the jump from Aussie DWTS to American DWTS. She is, in fact, the only pro to win two different versions of DWTS...Australian Season 2 (paired with TV host Tom Williams) and U.S. Season 9 (paired with Donny "Whitest Guy On The Planet" Osmond).
