Not to be too cynical about the story, but wouldn't he have been better off going to the Norwegian embassy and using a proper office there?

oh, btw - It was the Icelandic economy's last wish that it's ashes be scattered over Europe. </coat>

That's not cynical at all. If you were cynical, you'd point out that answering email isn't that impressive no matter how ridiculous a headline CNN adds.

UK: Iceland, you bastards, you've closed all of our airports!

Iceland: What are you complaining about? This is what you've been demanding for months.

UK: We said 'Send Cash', CASH!

You could say Iceland's future is under a cloud.

They need some bright spark to think of a way out of this mess.

On the bright side, their CO2 emissions are way down.

Does that count the CO2 generated while the Norwegian PM (and thousands like him) drives from Madrid to Oslo?

Not yet, but it probably will by the time they're done updating it. The volcano is (unsurprisingly) looking less environmentally friendly as they refine their original numbers.

Yeah, it looks to me like they started with a premise they liked and are now gradually being forced to admit their premise is utter bollocks.

ETA: Oh, and I like how they use the lower limit of the latest estimate for CO2 emissions from the volcano. Because the upper limit would make their chart look pretty dumb.

Ugh!
