Hello Buddies!

This article talks about an octopus that carries around coconut shells to use as a future fortress against predators.

I have an issue with statements that declare this is the first animal without a spine to use tools!

No offence.

Tool use among us married men has been documented for many years!

Octopus also play. If you give them plastic Easter eggs with stuff in them, they will pull them open, get what's inside and continue to fiddle with the pieces. It reminds me of the way cats will play with things, they'll bat things around their aquariums, stack things, and some even have favorite toys. Several aquariums I've been to have had octopus that will crawl onto the windows of their aquariums and follow people, it's a little disconcerting.
