They may have worn out by now but I made a set of piston rings for this beast, the PM-1225.

Geekygoddess and I are thinking about it. Owosso is only about 4,000 people so the town would be
madness. We would be outside chasing the trips but even that may be to crowded for the photos we like.
Still I'd like to get a close look at 4449. We were just up there 2 weeks ago and listening to the
regular engineer for PM 1225 telling stories about how the sound crews worked to get sound for the
Polar Express movie. Despite that I'd like to go again. [Razz]

Edit: My one good photo of Pere Marquette 1225

___________________ HalfVast __ I am glad you noticed the Post.

I do not know if the local hams will be involved in tracking all those engines, this year.

I was near Oakley the time the Sound bites were recorded, Cheashing, and St. Charles are also good places if you know the schedule.

I have been all over that engine but never got a Cab Ride.

A few years back I got two Quicktime Movies of PM-1225 passing through Sterling and Standish.

Linky to APRS

I am in the process of setting up a digipeater, fixed, and a mobile. I think that the Shiawassee Ham club approached the SRI about putting a mobile APRS unit on the trains so that they could be tracked in real time. I used to live just SW of Flushing, so I know Owosso well plus the time spent at the Old Ann Arbor RR Shop working on thePM-1225.
