Last week it was in the 120's (temperature wise). I honestly am finally to become very miserable here between the multitudes of plastic people I've met, the heat, and the distance that's destroyed some friendships slowly.

But unhappiness aside (I'm gonna give a bit of an update cause I keep popping back here but I always out of not-habit forget to get online enough these days) I've made quite the strides to get myself (on an emotional level) more balanced.

I've doused myself in the drama department, getting a supporting role first audition and have kept a 4.0 (non weighted) in an honours curriculum. I've moved on from my malformed idea of handling things. Little alfrin is a high school Junior now with a puny two years left. I remember chanting last summer "three more years". It seemed beyond ridiculous but seeing only two years left (with one really to figure out colleges) time is disappearing, faster and faster like a lit thread.

I do hope this time I'll commit Geek Culture once again to a daily habit. So how has everyone been? I know I've missed this place.

Hey there, Alfrin. I think there's another Las Vegas inhabitant on the board now. Sorry you aren't happy there. Maybe it would help to focus on some of the good points? (Being interested in theater and stage shows, I'd think Vegas would be an awesome place to be.) I'd be hating the place on 120 degree days too.

yeah temperature in the 120's would really make anyone feel like crap.

You still have two years left - I on the other hand only have 1 more year left and still besides a very basic idea have no clue what I want to do. So I have 6 months to decide which Universities to apply to.

But its cool that you are making GC a regular part of your life.

My car has no AC. I live in Vegas. I drive about 20 minutes to and from my house. It's not that bad. It was only about 106 today.

I wear a suit to work quite often too. Unless you're working outside, and in that case, drink lots of water. <shrugs>

Then you'll have all the free air conditioning you'd ever want in the county lockup! [Big Grin]

Whoa. You're not far from the Valley of Fire (Webpage). Amazing place lined with incredible petroglyphs. I need to go back there (and this time I'll bring someone I like).

Sorry to hear you aren't actually enjoying Vegas. I hope it gets a bit better for you.

I am gonna be out that way in October. Wedding and hopefully a few days of extreme drunkenness.

I plan on trying to see how many laws I can break in a few days. If I do it right, I'll let you know if the county lock up has AC.
