I thought you were in Florida? Then again, given your driving history, I suppose it's a valid reply. [Razz]

One of my daughter's former high school teachers was an eyewitness. Other than that, that's all I heard about it. I was in Munich.

For the record, the only 2 deaths appear to have been the pilot and his flight instructor.
Again, a snipped NYT article link: http://snipurl.com/yvv5

Now, if we can just return to our regularly scheduled calm fall?

Am I the only one that thinks letting a student pilot fly about over Manhattan is a little unwise?

If you watch 'The History Of NASA' backwards, it's about a space agency that has no manned spaceflight capability, then does low-orbit flights, then lands on the Moon.

You're not. One of the local newsrags today had an article about how even experienced pilots avoid flying around Manhatten. The problem is that you have to take some bizarre sharp turns to avoid getting into the LGA, JFK and EWR airspaces. In this case he had to turn towards the island to avoid LGA's, and *duh* there was a building in front of him.
