Found it after googling an outlook express generated error with the hex seen in the url above. The posted link was one of the first listings on google...

I'm still trying to make sense of it...something's gotta be hidden in there...

Holy hexidecimal, Batman!

I'm just going to have to write a Perl program to decipher that one - intriguing...

Edit:
Oh, the fscking evil...
BTW, that page is linked from http://uselessword.com/ - it's described in links Google found as "All the numbers you
will ever normally need in the real world." For now, I will remain a bit stumped. I'm not sure there's anything rational in there - I bet they're all imaginary numbers. I might just give up before I go into a circle, or off on a tangent. *psi*

Found near the bottom...

"© 4966 74686973 70616765 6d616b6573 73656e7365 746f....."

Quite interesting, the copyright symbol is the only non alpha-numeric character I've found...could help narrow down the obfuscation/encryption technique used if the encoding of 4966 can be somehow decoded..The domain was seemingly registered last year and possibly could ease the process of demystification if either 2003 or 2004 were indeed the encoded number associated with the copyright...

Just random speculation.

I half think there's some real content in there, based on what's on 'uselessword.com,' and the worst fear I have is that it's some kind of link farm. I just switched my User Agent to Googlebot, and didn't get different content, so I feel a bit better, but I'm oddly suspicious. I have *no idea* what that stuff is yet. If I ever have lots of spare time, I might run an analysis on it. BTW, the content is dynamic.

If all the words have an even number of digits, then it's a pretty good bet that each pair of digits is indicating a character. However, if it's encrypted, then consecutive digits may not be paired. For instance, 1234 may be 13 24 as far as decoding pairs to characters is concerned.

It's also interesting how different words are in different number bases. It seems to swap between decimal, hex and binary almost at will (I'll bet there's some octal in there too).

It's clearly a 'million monkeys with typewriters' experiment. Each time you refresh any page, you get a new random collection of words, and they encourage you to mail it to them if there is something meaningfull.

You could always email the useless word domain owner and ask him what it is?
