I've finally managed to get working Linux on Hex. Dual-booted with WinXP, yes, but the more I learn, the less I have to use Windoze.

And yes, Mandrake is quite easy, as linux distros go, but one must start somewhere.

I was having monitor resolution troubles, but they went away after I installed with British English instead of American English. Odds are, I swapped a driver somewhere along the line...kinda wierd anyway, though.

Well yes, I'm sure your graphics card works better in True Colour than in High Color [Wink] .

Maybe someone's getting even for all that "freedom fries" nonsense. [Razz]

If you watch 'The History Of NASA' backwards, it's about a space agency that has no manned spaceflight capability, then does low-orbit flights, then lands on the Moon.

You're doing yourself a huge favor by learning Linux. Reducing your dependence on that proprietary crap is one of the best things you can do...

We'll really know when Linux has gained a strong foothold when Dr. Phil starts recommending people switch to it... I could see that happening.

Maybe someone could mail him a set of CD's. I don't really watch TV, but I know a bunch of ladies who would probably install Linux if the good Doctor said it was what they should do.
