Trying to revise has made me realise that my lack of a public education has left me behind my peers when it comes to remembering names of things that are based in Latin. So I've decided to try and learn Latin instead of just going for pure memorisation (understanding being more use than rote learning, and all that).

Has anyone got any recommendations for self-teaching books/online courses? I'm working through Peter Jones' book, but the other half (who does have the benefit of a Classical education) keeps telling me to buy Textbook X that costs £lots instead. So, any recommendations on free stuff, or something expensive that'll be worth the money?

Start with this
Romani ite domum

Or, if you're a Doctor Who fan, this series features the characters from 'The Fires Of Pompeii'

If you watch 'The History Of NASA' backwards, it's about a space agency that has no manned spaceflight capability, then does low-orbit flights, then lands on the Moon.

Ha! She suggested the Cambridge series for exactly that reason (which explains why she was sniggering away at what I couldn't tell were jokes when we watched it the other night). I'll wander over to the library now...
